About the Community & Campus Day of Service
Last year's Day of Service was a great success! In the course of 3 hours, more than 1,500 volunteers packaged 160,722 meals, which were delivered to Eastern Illinois Foodbank. Additionally, hundreds of volunteers participated in dozens of other projects across Champaign-Urbana. This year, members of the local community and University of Illinois faculty, staff, and students will join forces once again to kick off National Volunteer Week 2016, which will take place from April 10-16. Our primary project, The Food Packaging Project, involves packaging 149,000 meals - one thousand for every year of public engagement since the University was chartered - for local foodbanks to be distributed to needy families in Champaign-Urbana.
Hundreds of volunteers are needed for the food packaging project as well as a number of other projects being planned to benefit the local community. Several volunteer shifts will be available during the day.
Or plan your own community service project and let us know about it!

Stephens Family YMCA 1st Annual 3-On-3 Spring Basketball Tournament
April 16: 9am-5pm
Stephens Family YMCA
2501 Fields South Drive
Champaign, IL 61822
The Stephens Family YMCA is excited to announce our first annual 3-On-3 Spring Basketball Tournament for boys and girls, grades 3-8, on Saturday, April 16, with games going from 9am-5pm. In order to make this event a success, we are looking for 8-12 volunteers. Volunteers would be in charge of checking in players, by signing them in and collecting their paperwork, then keeping the score for games by simply flipping the scoreboard. Ideally we are looking for volunteers who can work 9am-5pm, however we understand people have time commitments and are open to volunteers working any time they are available on April 16. YMCA's are volunteer founded, volunteer based and volunteer led. For 150 years, YMCA's have depended on the strength and passion of our volunteers. You can do so much and you are the person who can do what you do! For more information or if you want to help out at the event, please contact Spencer Barclay by email at Intern@ccymca.net or by phone at (217)239-2812
This event is made possible through generous support from our partners. Let us know if you're interested in sponsoring!
