About the Community & Campus Day of Service
You are invited to be part of the Sixth Annual Community & Campus Day of Service. On Saturday, April 14th, you can join together to package 151,000 ready-to-boil meals that will be delivered to local foodbanks and food pantries to be distributed to families in need throughout eastern Illinois.
151,000 meals is significant this year, as it represents 1,000 meals for each year since the University of Illinois was chartered. It takes hundreds of volunteers to make this worthwhile event possible, so gather your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and fellow students.
You can select the shift of your choice and register today!
Last year was a huge success and over three hours, more than 1,300 volunteers packaged 180,306 meals for the Eastern Illinois Foodbank and Feeding Our Kids. It’s a great way to spend a couple hours on a Saturday morning helping out and making a difference in your community. Here’s more information about the food packaging project!
You can also plan your own community service project and let us know about it!
If you have questions about the Food Packaging Project, you can contact us.
Agencies in search of volunteers for their events can post their opportunities on CUVolunteer.
